Our horses and ponies are the lifeblood of Pathhead. They may look a rather motley crew, varying in size and shape from Thelwellian Welsh Ponies to our towering Orla (Clydesdale x Arab)!
However, they are all wonderful and have been hand picked by us to be kind, steady and patient to help riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy the wonders of horse riding.
We're so spoilt at Pathhead to be able to offer our horses 24/7 turnout in herds in the larger fields. Horses are very social herd animals, being able to keep them in groups is really important to their well-being. We keep the boys (geldings) together in one field, and keep all the lady horses (mares) in another. This stops squabbling and any 'Love Island' situations arising, yet allows for a happy community.
